Happy New Year!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry it has been a long time since I last wrote! Happy New Year! I hope you all made some great resolutions for 2008 :):)

In my last post I told you that one of my goals was to have a really good off-season so that I could get off to a good start in 2008. As I hope some of you know, I had a great start to the 2008 season by reaching the finals last week in Gold Coast, Australia. My biggest win of the week was against Top 20 player Shahar Peer…who was also my doubles partner! After Gold Coast I traveled to Hobart to compete in my 2nd tournament of 2008….unfortunately my leg was still sore from the previous week and I had to withdraw in my first match. I was afraid I would get injured badly and would not be able to compete in Melbourne at the Australian Open.

I will be traveling to Melbourne tomorrow to get ready for the 1st Grand Slam of the year. After the Australian Open I will be playing in Paris, Antwerp, Doha and Dubai. Please stay tuned and wish me well!

Love,
Vika

    Hi Victoria,

You’ll play against Serena now. Just to tell you I wish you all the best there, keep things focused and simple and go for it! And keep going all the way. Probably you DO belong in the top 10. Would be nice to see you there.
    Best wishes for 2008!

    Hi Vika,
Today I was in Paris Open Gaz de France and was along the court to see your match against Danilidou. Ok you lost but you produced a wonderful tennis. My friends and I were the only ones to support you all the match long, we really enjoyed to see you playing. You lost because you didn’t had chance on two balls at 5-5 but I hope that you will not loose your confidence in yourself, please stay concentrated on your game, it is not a shame to loose a match against Danilidou as she prove in the past that she has a good tennis. I also hope that the injury you had on the matchball will not be hard for you.
I do believe that 2008 will be a great season for you cause you have all the potential to be in top 10 very soon.
Remark: is it possible that your coach cud be a bit more involved in your match?
Take care and enjoy Paris, please come back in may for the French Open at Roland Garros

Hi,Vika.I have a game yesterday.it’s terrible game.I have not experienced such a foolish game before..Why do I can’t play tennis more better…How do you deal if you out off form?I do not advance in skill easily recently. I do not lose the fighting spirit up to the last one point of the game by you and think the truth with. I give up playing a game at once. Is it a day when, and does come to me by the day when it can play tennis like you…I really respect you. And,I think more harder practice.

    hi vika,
    i hope you’re doing well ;-)
Your matches @ Berlin WTA Tour impressed me very much. I one time i was sitting in the public. I think it was the Quaterfinal against Alona Bondarenko from UKR, you were really good. And I really liked your backhand. I also play tennis but i’m usin’ only one hand for my bakchand, maybe thats the reason why my backhand is so terrible ;)
hope you’ll play this year as successful as the 2008.
Please excuse my terrbile english, but i’m still in school and our teacher is *smile*

At the moment you probably are preparing for Roland Garros, and I think that you can beat them all through the finals ;)
Here from Argentina I can’t see women’s matches very often, but I always follow your progress, hoping you do it well.
    Best wishes for you!!!
